Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 7, 2026
All Video Downloader & Player ("we", "us", or "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our application, including features that let you log in to connect with a social media platform (such as Instagram) to download content you choose.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Social Media Login and Media Access (Instagram, Facebook)
Our app includes optional features that let you log in to a social media platform (such as Instagram or Facebook) through an embedded browser (WebView) in order to download content you choose.
Instagram:
- When you use this feature, we access the session cookies created by your login (including your session identifier) so that your download requests can be authenticated with Instagram.
- These session cookies are stored only on your device, in the app's local, app-private storage. We do not maintain a database of user credentials or sessions on our servers.
- When you request a download, your device sends the session data to our server for that single request only, so the request can be authenticated and the media retrieved. Our server processes this data in memory to complete your request and does not write it to a database or persist it after the request is completed.
Facebook:
- When you use this feature, you log in to Facebook through the same type of embedded in-app browser. This allows the browser to load the Facebook pages/videos you choose to view, including content only visible to logged-in accounts.
- Our app functions by intercepting the media resources (such as video or image file addresses) that are directly loaded by the Facebook page within the in-app browser. When we identify a downloadable media resource, our app provides a "Download" button for you to save the content directly to your device.
- Important Note: This process happens entirely on your device. We do not transmit your Facebook session data or any Facebook media links to our servers. Your browsing and download activity remains local to your device, and we do not store, track, or access your Facebook account data on our servers.
Both platforms:
- We never ask for, see, or store your Instagram or Facebook username or password directly. Login happens entirely within each platform's own login page, loaded inside the in-app browser.
- You can remove any stored session from your device at any time by using the "Logout" option in the app, which deletes the locally stored session and clears the in-app browser's cookies.
1.2 Device and Usage Information
Depending on the app configuration, we (or third-party services we use, such as advertising and analytics providers) may automatically collect:
- Device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID)
- App usage and interaction data (e.g., crash reports, feature usage)
- Approximate location derived from IP address (for ad/analytics purposes only)
1.3 Downloaded Media
Media you choose to download is processed by our server to retrieve it from Instagram and is temporarily made available to your device for download. We do not retain copies of downloaded media on our servers after your download completes beyond the time reasonably needed to serve the file to you.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above only to:
- Authenticate your requests with Instagram so we can retrieve content you ask us to download
- Operate, maintain, and improve the app
- Serve advertisements and measure app performance (if applicable)
- Respond to support requests
We do not use your Instagram session data for any purpose other than fulfilling the specific download request you initiate.
3. Data Storage and Retention
- Instagram session data is stored only on your device. It is never written to a server-side database. When your session is sent to our server to process a download, it is used in memory for that request and discarded immediately afterward.
- You control this data directly: logging out in the app deletes it from your device.
- Device/usage/advertising data (if collected via third-party SDKs) is retained according to those providers' own retention policies. See Section 5.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only as follows:
- Instagram/Meta (Instagram) and Facebook (Meta Platforms, Inc.): When you use our login features, your device communicates directly with these platforms to authenticate and retrieve content, in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms — Instagram Privacy Policy, Instagram Terms of Use, and Meta/Facebook Privacy Policy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
- Advertising and analytics providers: We use Google Ad Manager to serve advertisements, and Firebase (a Google service) for app analytics, crash reporting, and related app functionality. These providers may collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, and usage data under their own privacy policies — see Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's Privacy and Security page.
5. Third-Party Services
This app uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Google Ad Manager — used to serve advertisements within the app. May collect device/advertising identifiers and usage data for ad targeting and measurement. Google Privacy Policy
- Firebase (Google) — used for app functionality such as analytics, crash reporting, and/or push notifications. May collect device identifiers, app usage data, and diagnostic/crash data. Firebase Privacy and Security
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access/Delete local session: Use the in-app "Logout" option to delete your locally stored Instagram session at any time.
- Revoke access from Instagram's side: You can also review and revoke third-party app sessions directly from your Instagram account settings.
- Data deletion requests: Since we do not store your Instagram credentials or session on our servers, there is no server-side account data to delete. If you believe we hold any information about you in error, contact us using the details below and we will investigate.
- Advertising opt-out: You may opt out of personalized advertising through your device's ad settings.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (such as HTTPS for all network requests) to protect data in transit. Because Instagram session data is not persisted on our servers, the risk of server-side data exposure for this information is minimized by design. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us.
9. Legal Compliance
We aim to comply with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), to the extent they apply to our services.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app's features or legal requirements. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" above.
